Julian Cai (he/him) – Lab Manager
Julian is a fifth-year student working towards a B.A. (Honours) in Psychology. At the DAS Lab, he started as an RA and later became the Confederate Coordinator prior to taking on the Lab Manager position.
His research outside of the DAS lab explores how an individual’s sense of identity relates to their psychological well-being and distress. He is particularly interested in understanding the mechanisms and impacts of identity-related concerns in young adults. Ultimately, he hopes that this research can contribute to both better treatment of identity distress and the promotion of positive psychological growth.
In the future, he aims to become a practicing psychologist that prioritizes personalization of care to help individuals develop a sense of personal meaning and agency in their lives. In addition, he is passionate about supporting traditionally underrepresented populations in therapy.
